Theseus and the Minotaur

Theseus: Was a clever happy young man and he lived with his mother. He is the son of Poseidon, the god of the sea and king Aegeus .

King Aegeus: He Was the king of Athens, he was an old man. His wife is Medea and he had two sons.

Minotaur: He was half-bull and half-man, he lived in a maze and he was king Minos's son.

King Minos: He was the king of Crete, he was a cruel and evil man and he had a daughter, her name is Ariadne.

Ariadne: She was the daughter of the king Minos. She was a beautiful woman and she loves Theseus.

Medea: She was the wife of the king Aegeus and she had a son.

"Theseus and the Minotaur"
Theseus was a young man. He lived with his mother. He had two fathers: Poseidon, the god of the sea, and the king Aegeus, but he doesn't know his fathers. One day he went with his mother in the garden and his mother showed him a big rock and under it, there was a sword, King Aegeus's sword and she said: This sword is yours.

After that Theseus went to his father's house. Now, King Aegeus had a new wife and another son. His wife wanted to kill Theseus because she didn't want Theseus to become the king after king Aegeus. But Theseus's father saw her and stopped her. In the evening Theseus went into the garden and his father was crying. Theseus asked: "why are you crying?" And the king told him that long time before, in a fight he killed one of King Minos's sons. King Minos had two sons.

And one was the Minotaur. It was half man and half bull. "After killing we lost the fight and now every year we have to send 14 men and the Minotaur eats them" King Aegeus said.

Theseus said: "I want to go to Crete and kill the Minotaur".

When they arrived in Crete Theseus was presented and told the king that he was the son of Poseidon, the god of the sea and the son of the king Aegeus. And the king asked "what can you do?" And the king told him to find his ring in the sea. Theseus jumped into the sea and a dolphin brought him the ring. After that Theseus went to rest in a dark room. Then King Minos's daughter, Ariadne, came and gave Theseus a knife and a rope. She helped Theseus because she loved him and she wanted to be his wife. And she helped Theseus because he promised to take her out of Crete.

Then Theseus went to the Minotaur's maze and killed it. When Theseus came back, he left Ariadne in the island of Naxos, and Ariadne was angry with Theseus and she said: Now you are going to be very unhappy too.

When Theseus and the young Athenians came back to Athens. King Aegeus was dead. The people of Athens were happy for the Minotaur's story and were unhappy for the king Aegeus, too. And Theseus was unhappy for his father.
